Do you want to learn English for free in Orange County, California?
Wilshire Center, part of North Orange County Community College District’s School of Community Education, in Fullerton, California, offers free morning and evening English as a Second Language and Citizenship classes.
If you’re new to our school, you’ll need to complete the Fall 2010 ESL Registration on the following dates:
August 30, 31 2010
Room 110
Testing Times:
8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
4:45 p.m. and 6:45 pm

Class Schedule:
Monday through Thursday Mornings:
8:00 am – 10:30 am and 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Monday through Thursday Evenings:
5:00 pm – 7:30 pm and 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Watching television in English is helpful for learning English.

MaestroSersea recommends that English learners view television in English for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

NASA Educational Channel offers a variety of helpful, meaningful, and educational video programs via the internet. These programs are helpful for gaining new knowledge and improving English listening skills.

Are you interested in science, medicine, education, and learning English? Watching educational television programs helps English learners accelerate their understanding of English.

Welcome to MaestroSersea’s Weekly E-Mail for English Learners Service

Learning English is like exercising: you have to exercise regularly to get in shape, and be healthy and strong. Learning English doesn’t have to be difficult, or painful like physical exercise, but it must take place on a daily basis in order for it to be effective. MaestroSersea, currently a high school, community college, and university instructor, learned English as a 3rd language. It was not easy to learn English, but with the help of positive teachers, he became a good student of English and then went on to college to become a teacher of English.

English learning involves four major areas: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. Every week, we will feature links to websites, videos, and web activities where students can improve their English skills.

Each week, you will receive a new e-mail to help you learn and improve English.

Aesop’s Fables with MaestroSersea - The Cat and the Mice

Aesop’s Fables with MaestroSersea are short, wise, stories written many years ago by Aesop. These stories help English learners improve their reading comprehension, listening, and writing skills. There are also machine-translations in Spanish and French to help English learners with understanding. Machine-translators are automatic and are not always correct in grammar, but do help language learners with translation, whenever needed. So, turn up the volume on your computer speakers or headphones, and click on the following link to listen, read, and learn English in a fun, easy way. After you listen and read, please add a comment at the bottom of the page and share what you learned.

Easy Translation in 41 Languages on the Internet

MaestroSersea has created many websites on the internet. One of his websites is a free online translator in 41 languages called TranslationHelp.info . Online translators are considered machine-translators. Machine translators aren’t always 100% accurate, but they help with instant translation of words, phrases, and even paragraphs.

Whenever you need help with translating a word or a phrase from English into your language, visit TranslationHelp.info.

ESL Teacher Videos: Mr. Alaniz

Mr. Miguel Alaniz is one of Wilshire Center’s prized evening English as a Second Language evening instructors. Mr. Alaniz has been teaching ESL students here at Wilshire ESL Center for over 10 years.

He currently teaches Beginning Low ESL 7:30PM- 10PM, as well as Beginning High ESL 5Pm – 7PM, every evening. Here are some videos of Mr. Alaniz and his English Language Learners.
